Ian is a Legal Assistant at the firm. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda. He is a member of the Uganda Law Society.
He is in the Energy and Infrastructure department and specializes in energy, mining and infrastructure law. He has a wealth of experience in advising on matters in the energy sector with a focus on Infrastructure Development.
He has worked on a wide variety of matters involving renewable energy projects and financing of the projects. He has handled a wide range of projects including, land acquisitions for large infrastructure projects and implementation of resettlement action plans.
He also has experience in due diligence and regulatory compliance, drafting land acquisition documents, carrying out searches, acquisition of statutory approvals, and processing titles for rights of way acquired. He has participated in drafting and review of agreements, disclosure documents and sale agreements to ensure adherence to proper form, process and regulatory regimes, at both national and international levels.
